Vintage Thorens Swiss-made wooden music box featuring the 2-tune AL 241 cylinder movement playing "La Traviata" and "Tales of Vienna" and was distributed by Silverite Co. Brooklyn between 1930-1940.
Condition Details: The music box is functional and the winding key works. It does play, but it currently runs a little bit slow and does not automatically shift to the next song. It has been sitting for a while and just needs a good cleaning and some fresh oil to get it back up to its normal speed.
Cosmetically, the wood case is in great shape for its age with some normal light surface wear and hairline cracks on the veneer. Please look at all pictures closely.
Most importantly, all of the metal teeth on the musical comb are completely intact with none missing. This is a beautiful vintage piece that just needs a quick tune-up to be perfect again.
This is a wonderful piece for a collector, restorer, or enthusiast looking for a genuine Swiss Thorens movement!
