Vintage USSR Russian Kholui signed hand-painted lacquer box Humpbacked Pony For Sale

Delightful vintagehand-made, original Russian Kholui hand-paintedpapier-mache lacquer box. This tiny box depicts a scene from theRussian tale of the Little Humpbacked Pony. The colors are rich andvibrant. It is signed in Cyrillic on the lid on the lower edge of thepainting with the title of the work “Humpbacked Pony”,the village name “Kholui”andthe artist’s signature “O. Dobrina”. On the bottom in goldpaint is “Made in USSR”, which dates the piece to pre-USSRbreakup (pre-1990).

Thebox measures approximately 1 7/8 inches long, 1 1/2 incheswide and 1 inch tall. The box is in excellent condition with no chipsor cracks.
