Wonderful vintage V & S Rawson hand-carved and hand-painted folk art piece featuring a whimsical Sandman/nighttime figure flying above a sleeping crescent moon.The figure is dressed in deep blue/purple with painted stars and carries a little sack while suspended over the moon by a curved support. The crescent moon rests on a dark blue, star-painted wooden base. Such a unique celestial piece with lots of character!The underside is hand signed/marked V & S Rawson and dated 1996. A fantastic piece for a V & S Rawson collector, folk art collection, or anyone who loves vintage celestial, moon, Sandman, or whimsigoth decor.Condition:Overall, this Sandman wood carving is in great vintage condition for its age. I see no significant or drastic damage.
