Vintage WW2 Japanese Dai-Nippon Brewery Beer Bottle - Akibasan Maru Shipwreck For Sale

This Japanese beer bottle, made by the Dai-Nippon Brewery, was recovered during a dive in 1991 from theJapanese cargo ship Akibasan Maru, resting at the bottom of the Kwajaleinlagoon in the Marshall Islands. The Akibasan Maru is 375’ in length and wassunk by bombing from U.S. aircraft on January 30, 1944 during World War II. Theshipwreck is resting upright at a depth of 160’. This bottle was located in the front hold of the ship at a depth of 135’ where it layundisturbed for almost 50 years.This bottle was found neatly lying in a wooden crate covered in silt in the dark hold of the ship, well protected during its stay at depth. This is how this bottle looked in 1944.

The bottles recovered from this site varied in coloration and markings from both the Kirin and Dai-Nippon Breweries, with this bottle being a brownish olive green. I have already sold a handful of these and I am selling the remaining few.
