Vtg 13 1/4\" Folk Art Paper Mache Figurine on Base-Peasant Man With Hat & Basket For Sale

Offered is this handcrafted paper mache figurine of a man in a hat carrying a basket on his back. The piece is not dated and there are no marks or artist\'s signature so I don\'t know who made it or when, but looking at the base it appears to be old enough to be described as vintage. Although the man looks Oriental to me there are several parts that are made of paper with words in Spanish printed on them so the piece may be from Latin America rather than Asia.The figurine is approx. 13 1/4\" high, with the base about 3 1/4\" x 3\".
