Vintage 1940s Hasko Haskelite Serving Tray – Sailboat Nautical Scene
American mid-century history. This Hasko buffet/serving tray was made by Haskelite Manufacturing Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, most likely in the 1940s — the heyday of Hasko tray production. Haskelite is the same company whose plywood was used in the construction of Lindbergh\'s Spirit of St. Louis, and their decorative trays were considered some of the finest mass-produced trayware of the era.
The face features a classic nautical lithograph scene — two sailboats on open water with a lighthouse, shoreline, and seabirds — printed in warm earth tones, ivory, and green on a rich walnut-finish wood ground. Rounded corners, raised edges, and clean construction throughout. Made using Haskelite\'s patented Haskomold process: selected wood covered with fine lithographed paper, lightweight yet durable.
Back is stamped with the Hasko diamond logo, patent number 2,231,345, and \"Haskelite Mfg. Corp. / Chicago, Ill.\"
Measurements: approximately 15\" L x 8\" W
These trays are increasingly collected as mid-century Americana and make a wonderful display piece, catch-all tray, or conversation starter.
Condition: Vintage preowned — please review all photos for wear consistent with age. There are scuffs and one of the corners is \"bent\". Graphics are intact and vibrant.
