Vtg 1950s? Dovetailed Wooden Box-Wilkes Cty Courthouse Washington GA + Coupon For Sale

Offered is this vintage wooden box with dovetailed corners and removable lid, featuring a color image of the historic Wilkes County courthouse in Washington, Georgia. The image shows the courthouse with its original top portion, which was destroyed in a fire in 1958. There is a brief description of the courthouse’s history inside the lid (see photo # ). I don’t know who made it; it may be handmade. I don't know exactly how old it is, either, but judging from the cars shown in the image I would guess it dates to the late 1940s-early 1950s. The wood looks like cedar but I’m not certain. The interior of the box has a removable divider; when in place the two sections are just the right size to store decks of cards. Also included is a coupon for Monarch Brothers photographers in Washington. It is undated but appears to be at least as old as the box, possibly older.The box is approx. 5 3/4” x 4 1/4” x 1 1/2” on the outside. It is in very good condition. Other than a few light marks from handling and use, the only problem I see is a small bit of wear on the back left corner of both the lid and the box bottom(see photo #7). The coupon is approx. 4 3/8” x 3 3/8”. It has no tears or holes but does have some creases and it has yellowed slightly.Please take a moment to look at some of the other items in my store!
