# Rare Vintage 1960s Space Age Musical Zodiac Cigarette Dispenser & Lighter Set - Japan
Up for sale is an incredibly stunning, matching Mid-Century Modern "Space Age" novelty tobacciana set manufactured in Japan by Windmill. This highly collectible pair features a deep cobalt blue enameled finish encrusted with prong-set rhinestone "stars," beautifully encased within polished brass astrological framework bands.
MUSIC BOXES WORK GREAT ON BOTH PIECES:- Unlike many of these sets found today, BOTH mechanical music boxes are in excellent, smooth working condition. They wind up perfectly by rotating the globes counter-clockwise on their bases and play their mid-century tunes clearly when the gold pins are pulled.
MECHANICAL & AS-IS DETAILS:- Cigarette Dispenser Lift: The internal telescoping lift rod is stiff from age. It manually pulls open about 1 inch to show the interior brass cigarette carousel layout before hitting a hard mechanical stop. It will require a light application of sewing machine oil or professional internal track cleaning to fully slide open to its complete umbrella height.- Table Lighter Element: The lighter sphere flips open beautifully on its rear hinge. The gold-plated lighter insert is visually pristine with a clean wick, but is completely UNTESTED for spark, flint, or fuel.
COSMETIC & VISUAL CONDITION:- Both pieces are in gorgeous vintage cosmetic shape with exceptionally rich, deep blue coloration.- MOST prong-set rhinestone stars are present and intact.- The brass zodiac ring on the dispenser and the champlevé enameled world map collar on the lighter retain a gorgeous, warm vintage luster with light, age-appropriate patina.
