Vintage 1989 handcrafted cedar box produced by the Upper Skagit Tribe of Washington State and signed P. Dunthorne.
This striking Pacific Northwest Coast art piece features a bold King Salmon design on the sliding lid in black, red, and earth-tone colors. The natural cedar construction gives the box a warm, rustic appearance while highlighting the traditional Northwest Coast-inspired artwork.
The underside is stamped Upper Skagit Tribe, and the lid is signed and dated ©1989 P. Dunthorne.
Includes the original printed information pamphlet discussing the Upper Skagit Tribe, the significance of the King Salmon, and the artistic traditions represented in the design.

Excellent vintage condition with clean natural cedar grain and bright, crisp artwork. The interior is very clean. Light shelf wear is present on the underside from display and storage. The original paper insert shows normal age-related yellowing and creasing.
