Item: Vintage 1950s H.H. Heiser Tooled Colt 5.5" SAA Pistol Holster & Buscadero Gun Belt Rig
Markings: "H.H. HEISER / MAKER / DENVER, COLO." saddler style maker's mark and the number "7" stamped at the middle back holster. Matching "H.H. HEISER / MAKER / DENVER, COLO." mark and the number "49" stamped at the front left belt.
Condition: This rig is in Very Good Condition. Some drying and crazing along the inner belt and to the shell loops. A small spot of finish abrading to the darkened metal "glove" snap closure on the holster. Gorgeous hand carved floral tooling on the classic "Buscadero" gun belt and the front laced holster. Belt features 30 sewn leather shell loops for .38 ammo, boasts an elegant "shell" style metal front closure buckle, and measures 40" long x 3 1/4" wide overall. Holster sports beautiful contrasting brown leather side lacing, and measures 4 3/4" wide across the top opening and 8 3/4" long down the straight side, making it ideal for a Colt Single Action Army with a 5 1/2" barrel.
Historical Background: The Hermann H. Heiser Saddlery Co. of Denver, Colorado was established in 1874 during the height of the Old West, and for the next 80 years, they were world renowned for producing top of the line leather saddles, holsters, and gun belts.
