Vtg Arabia Finland Boat Water Hand Painted Wall Plate 10.75\" Marked FE100 473What a fabulous plate for your collection. I am familiar with Arabia Finland, but have never come across a hand painted plate like this. It is not stoneware as many of the mid-century plates are. As I did some research, I found a few similar ones online but all in Finnish stores. They were listed as \"wall plates\" so I assume these were made for decoration rather than in complete sets for use as dinnerware. The colors are vivid and the detail in the painting forefront is unbelievably fine. As the scene fades to the background, the images in the landscape become less realistic. There is a partial Arabia green backstamp as well as an impressed mark reading \"Arabia FE100 473.\" This plate is approximately 10-3/4\" in diameter, larger than the others in Finland which were listed as 23.5cm (9-1/4\" +/-) or smaller. It was purchased with a hanger attached, so I assume it has only been displayed. The hanger will NOT be included. There are no chips, cracks, repairs or stains and I see no surface scratches.
