Vtg. B & M Brick Oven Baked Beans Crock - \"Property of\" Burnham & Morrill Stamp For Sale

This excellent condition vintage B & M Brick - Oven Baked Beans miniature stoneware promotional pot features the classic New England two-tone brown and beige glaze. The bottom features the rarer raised molded text reading, \"PROPERTY OF BURNHAM & MORRILL COMPANY\". Research shows that there is a strong liklihood that this crock was produced during the 1930\'s to 1940\'s. The heavily embossed text on the bottom using \"PROPERTY OF\" signifies it was made during the era when these crocks were systematically distributed to commercial lunch counters, grocers, or regional customers with the expectation they would be collected, returned, washed and refilled at the Portland, ME factory. There are no major chips or cracks. On the top trim there is a minor flea bite and opposite the label there is a tiny pinhole which happened during manufacturing, called a firing pop or a burst glaze bubble, not damage or wear. The interior is glassy and well preserved. A perfect addition to put a smile on your face.
