Vintage CHINESE ART- RICE PAPER STONE RUBBING Signed/Framedhigh framed under glass.

Size of frame: 29\" wide x 23.5\" high

Size of image withing double mat: 22.5\" x 16.75\"

Signed with a red Chinese chop mark of the Artist in traditional style- once on the upper left near the General\'s head, and once on the lower right, near the horse\'s hoof. One of these chop marks may be a date or a title.

Image is from a historical ancient Chinese engraved stone depicting the Emperor\'s Horse, named Salizi. Legend has it that he was struck with an arrow during a war battle, and the Emperor\'s General pulled the arrow from him, saving him.

A highly collectible piece- the rubbing is expertly done, very distinct and crisp, colors beautiful. Paper color is a warm golden tone and the rubbing itself is a beautiful mixture of ochres, golden yellows, rust, and dark brown. The edge of the original historic stone is clearly visible/imprinted into the rubbing and makes a nice border edging.

Double matted- outer mat is a deep richchocolate brown and the inner mat isa soft moss green. Frame is gold gilded wood with an antiqued finish.

Excellent condition. No damage or staining/ warping/ fading to artwork and no damage to frame, mats [double] or glass. There is a very small [less than 1\"] place where dust is sitting on the surface of the dark brown mat near the top- between the mat and the inside of the glass- the mat is NOT damaged and if the backing were removed it could simply be pulled out/brushed away. It\'s super minor, up to buyer. See last pic.

Backed by white paper, has a sturdy & secure metal picture hanger wire across back- ready to hand. Has original price tag in upper right on glass.

The details are stunning- the tiny rubbed stone details are marvelous and this particular piece has exceptional tone and crisp lines...wonderful. Done with great skill.
