Vtg MCM Descoware 5qt Cast Iron Enamel Dutch Oven w/ Lid Made In Belgium Yellow For Sale

Vintage Descoware enameled cast iron oval Dutch oven, made in Belgium. Finished in a cheerful yellow (originally called citron) enamel exterior with contrasting blue-gray enamel interior and matching lid.

This is the larger 10 pint (5 qt) size, as listed in the original Descoware catalog. Interior opening measures approximately 11” long × 8.5” wide × 4.25” deep and 14” from handle to handle.

Descoware has a wonderful connection to American culinary history. Julia Child was a well known user of Descoware cookware and used pieces from the brand on her television cooking programs, helping make the colorful Belgian enameled cast iron familiar to generations of home cooks.

Very good vintage condition. This is a genuinely used vintage piece and shows minor signs of age and use, including some small enamel chips, scratches, scuffs, discoloration and surface wear, particularly around the rims, handles and exterior. All appear to be superficial and this piece displays very well. The interior also shows minor use-related wear. All imperfections have been photographed, so please review the photos closely as they are an important part of the condition description.
