Charming vintage German lidded shot glass or schnapps stein featuring detailed etched wildlife and outdoor scenes.
This miniature piece is styled like a traditional German beer stein but measures only approximately 4.5 inches tall, making it much more consistent with a shot glass, schnapps glass or small spirits stein rather than a full size beer stein.
The clear glass body features multiple etched wildlife and nature scenes along with molded horizontal bands and a decorative fluted base. The hinged silver tone metal lid has a traditional thumb lift and an especially attractive clear etched glass insert in the top.
The underside features an embossed eight point star, circular trademark and surrounding lettering that appears to include “Original - BMF - Schnapskrugerl.” The exact manufacturer has not been positively identified, so the maker is intentionally left unattributed.
The metal lid hardware is marked Made in Germany.
Based on the styling and construction, this appears to be a mid to late 20th century German piece, although the exact manufacturing date is unknown.
A great little display piece for a collector of German barware, miniature steins, schnapps glasses, hunting memorabilia or wildlife decor.
