4\" high, round base 1.75\" diameter

Meticulously hand painted, this piece has especially deep rich colors with a beautiful gloss

Circa 1920s or 30s figurine of the character SHYLOCK The Moneylender from the play THE MERCHANT OF VENICE by William Shakespeare. This figurine is a stereotype/caricature showing Shylock dramatically holding open his cape to reveal a bag of money/coins.

An odd and somewhat rare figurine, hard to find

Excellent condition-PRISTINE- No nicks, chips, cracks, scratches, crazing, fading or repair. Flawless other than one tiny air bubble in black glaze on cap, from time of manufacture. See last pic super minor. Beautiful fine porcelain figurine marked on base with a maker\'s name which has largely worn away, and the word JAPAN
