WWI Era Oregon National Guard Faithful Service Medal 5 Year Joseph G Dietrich For Sale

Original WWI-era Oregon National Guard Faithful Service Medal, dating approximately circa 1918–early 1920s and individually named to Joseph G. Dietrich.

The bronze-tone medal features a striking profile of a uniformed soldier wearing the distinctive WWI-era helmet, surrounded by the inscription “FAITHFUL SERVICE.”

The reverse is specifically named and reads:

The medal retains its original-style blue and gold ribbon, “FIVE YEARS” service bar, suspension and pin-back hardware.

Maker marked DIEGES & CLUST along the lower reverse. Dieges & Clust of New York was a prominent American manufacturer of military, governmental, organizational and commemorative medals and insignia.

Very good overall condition for its age. Medal displays an attractive aged patina with light surface wear. Ribbon remains remarkably colorful with expected age-related creasing, minor wear and small areas of fraying. Pin and suspension components remain present. Please examine all photographs carefully as they are an important part of the condition description.

A particularly appealing named Oregon National Guard service medal from the WWI/post-WWI period, retaining its Five Years bar and ribbon. Excellent piece of early Oregon military and National Guard history.
