WWI Imperial German Army Military Pass w Photo LUIS WALTHER POW Guard Estonian Born Born in the Czarist Russia (Modern Day Estonia) village of Lilenbaith. Served in a POW Camp - Crossen Oder in 1916 In 1916, the Crossen an der Oder prisoner-of-war (POW) camp existed in the German Empire, now Krosno Odrzańskie in Poland. It was a large camp, potentially holding around 18,000 men, and was used for POWs from World War I. Conditions and experiences varied, with some prisoners being transferred to farms and other locations for forced labor, while others described harsh conditions, especially in larger camps for enlisted men.Clearly he had a command of the Russian Language, the photo has been certified on the back to be the same holder as the Pass Owner, super unique.
