Up for sale is an authentic, highly complete World War II Canadian Mk II Brodie Steel Helmet. This particular shell is a beautiful, textbook example of Canadian wartime home-front production, remaining in exceptionally clean condition.The interior rim features a crisp, deeply struck manufacturer stamp: C.L./C. 1942 97. This identifies it as being produced by the Canadian Motor Lamp Company in 1942 using steel batch/lot 97.True to its production history, the rim edge features a singular, factory-punched quality control hole. This mark designates it as a Mk II No. 2 shell, which failed initial frontline ballistic testing and was redirected for domestic issue to Canadian or British Civil Defense forces (such as Air Raid Precautions wardens, police forces, or factory guards).Shell & Paint: Excellent structure with no major dents. It retains its original, smooth factory olive-drab/khaki paint finish.
