CONDITION
Original WWII-era National Geographic magazine plates/pages in unrestored estate-found condition. These are approximately 80+ years old and show expected age toning, foxing, spotting, discoloration, edge/corner wear, minor bends/creases and other storage wear as clearly photographed.
Several sheets are printed on both sides. Only one side of some sheets has been photographed because we did not want to unnecessarily remove, separate or manipulate the aged paper.
These were found stored together and have not been cleaned, pressed, trimmed, laminated or restored.

DESCRIPTION
Collection of original World War II-era National Geographic Society illustrated war plates/pages, dating primarily from the early-to-mid 1940s.
These are period magazine pages—not modern reproduction prints.
The group contains dramatic color wartime artwork depicting the U.S. Navy, Marines, aircraft carriers, amphibious operations, Bougainville, military production, cargo aircraft, tanks, Grand Coulee Dam, ski troops and other WWII home-front and combat subjects.
Artists represented include noted wartime illustrators:
Lt. William F. Draper, U.S.N.R.
Arthur Beaumont
Thornton Oakley
Draper served as a U.S. Navy combat artist, and National Geographic published his official Navy paintings in multiple wartime features. His April 1944 National Geographic feature “Jungle War: Bougainville and New Caledonia” consisted of 17 paintings.
Visible subjects/captions in this lot include aircraft carriers USS Wasp and Enterprise, Bougainville Marine landings, USS Kaskaskia and USS Ramapo, Grand Coulee Dam, American wartime industrial production, military cargo aircraft, mountain ski troops and additional Pacific Theater scenes.
These make excellent authentic period display pieces for a WWII, U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, aviation, military-history or National Geographic collection.
IMPORTANT: Some sheets are double-sided. They are being sold as found. We have intentionally avoided unnecessary removal or manipulation because of the age and condition of the paper.
