Original WWII-era U.S. Army olive drab canvas duffel bag with extensive period identification markings.

The 43rd Infantry Division, known as the “Winged Victory” Division, was a New England National Guard division that served extensively in the Pacific Theater during World War II, including operations in the Northern Solomons, New Guinea and Luzon. The division entered federal service in 1941 and returned to the United States in October 1945.

Condition:Vintage used military condition with significant authentic age and service wear. Canvas shows fading, stains, discoloration, marks and general soiling throughout. There are small holes/punctures in the canvas as shown in the close-up photo. Webbing and strap show age-related wear. Hardware and grommets show normal oxidation and wear. The hand-painted soldier and unit markings remain highly visible.

An especially interesting WWII military collectible because it retains the original officer’s name, service number and 43rd Infantry Division identification rather than being an anonymous surplus bag.
