War of 1812 Mounted Artillery Saber Sword For Sale

War of 1812 Mounted Artillery Sword. The only mark is a "VI" on the front of the crossguard. The grip is tight, the backstrap will move a tiny bit if you force it, and the guard wiggles a little. The grip is down to the wood, has a couple crackle lines and one chip. The quillon has been removed at some point. The blade has been sharpened (sharp! mix of old and newer marks), several nicks, light pitting with age spots scattered throughout, and has a little curl to the last 1/16" of the tip. Washer is missing. Length of the blade is 27 1/8" (1 3/8" wide x 1/4" thick), and the sword is 31 1/2". No scabbard.Check out my other War items! Including Many Swords and Bayonets!!
