Here are two Missouri medals, struck by the Franklin Mint. The medals recognize Missouri as the "Exploration State". These are Missouri Bicentennial Medals.
The first medal is .925 Sterling Silver. I weighed the medal w/unopenned package and plastic case. It was 32.1 grams. (This weight is not certified) On the obverse is an outline of the state, The Gateway Arch, a canoe with 3 occupants, and a early NASA space capsule. The date "1821" is stamped with the words "Missouri The Exploration State".
On the reverse of the medals is The Seal of the State of Missouri.
The 2nd medal is the solid bronze version. It is gleaming and brilliant.
Both medals are in plastic coin holders. Also, both medals are still in there original, unopened plastic bags.
It is my understanding that the mintage of the medals are very low, less than 35, 000, but I have not been able to verify that.
