1880s Cowboy Wyatt Earp Old West Tombstone AZ Lawman Pugilist Boxing Referee Cdv:
$8000.00

1880’s Wyatt Earp cabinet card. Published by the People’s Art Gallery of San Francisco. Earp’s wife was a native of San Fran. Earp spent a good portion of his life there. Along with being one of the most famous lawman of the Old West, Earp was also a pro boxing referee. Earp ref’d for some of the top boxers of his era. It is said Earp was dirty in the fight game along with other aspects of his life. I’ve had this cdv awhile. It was bought about two years ago while I was buying up 19th century boxing. I can’t remember which seller I bought it from. A bought a few big groups that were acquired a few at a time over a few weeks time from the same couple sellers. I do have a couple Earps. It did take me until this morning to realize it was Earp. In my defense it was buried in my working on it pile. Been working hard today. I will be listing a few other interesting boxing items later on tonight. I will definitely call this a blatantly obvious even with the comb over with shorter hair than we’re seeing on Earp. About 2 by 4 inch in size. Crude mounting of the image. I’ve never owned a People’s Art Gallery cdv. I don’t know if they’re known for poor quality. There are a few famous boxing card makers to come out of San Fran in the 19th century. Taber was the biggest. There is bubbling in the mounting. Stains., toning and wear. Feel free to ask questions.
