Indonesian Dark Patina Bronze Stylized Abstract Elephant Sculpture For Sale

Up for sale an Indonesian dark brown patina bronze stylized and slightly abstract elephant sculpture with an upturned trunk for good luck. This bronze elephant made in Indonesia in the 1990's has all the attributes of this magnificent animal: the upturned, curled trunk, tusks, prominent ears (the size of the ears seem to indicate that this is an Asian elephant), a short tail and a bulbous body. Yet, this wonderful and lively bronze sculpture stylizes and slightly abstracts the elephant form particularly in the legs of the elephant which are all connected together in the metal. This stylization is continued with the smooth surface of the sculpture which is contrary to the wrinkly skin of a real life elephant. With its open mouth, upturned and curled trunk and wide eyes, the elephant sculpture has an exuberant and joyful demeanor. The bronze elephant measures 14" H x 12" L x 5" W. Unmarked, but my consignment client acquired it from an interiordesigner who purchased it from an Asian importer. The bronze elephant sculpture is in good condition with some metal pieces inside the elephant's body which make noise. Also, the elephant is a bit front heavy and needs to stand on a flat, hard surface. Free insured shipping.
