RARE! Store Display 1900's Wooden Advertising Box FIGNUT Lion Fig & Date Co. 5¢

Here’s an amazing example of a dry goods store advertising display. I was told this came out of a dry goods store in Muscoda, Wisconsin. It dates from 1890 to 1900. It survived in an attic all these years . There is a stain on the top paper label. There are typical rips and tears on the paper labels as well. Some of the box shows damage from storage and age. The box measures 17“ x 12“ x 3“. The box reads.: FIGNUT A Dainty Confection, Wholesome, Sweet, Delicious. Originated and manufactured solely by the Lion Fig and Date Co. Chicago, ILL. U S. A. It has a paper label that features the head of a male lion. Also, the font appears to be made to look early Asian. I’m guessing there is not another one of these in existence. Information on this company is very hard to find. There is a letter from the company in someone else’s sale on right now.
