The postcard shows Gutzon Borglum's sculpture during the carving of the Memorial. A list of information and facts are below the photo. Earlier named the Shrine of Democracy the sculpture now known as Mt. Rushmore National Memorial, depicts 60 ft faces of four presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. These presidents were representative of the nation's birth, growth, development, and preservation. Carving of the memorial began in 1927 and ended, unfinished, because of lack of funding in October of 1941.
The postcard is a very good condition with no notable damage or defects just a very slight rounding of the corners. The postcard has no postage added to it and no writing or marks at all.
