This is an incredibly simple yet stunningly beautiful transitional Navajo blanket/rug.
The wool used is impossibly soft to the touch and may be lamb's wool, with dense weaving that melts into clear simple fields at a distance.
The wool composing this textile is all hand-carded and hand-spun with natural colors.
Very few textiles are this evocative.

Aside from the obvious hole, this rug is in good condition. There are sections of the edge with some unraveling and several thinned spots. One of the narrow edges has a minor uneven, scalloped effect. See photos for close-ups of affected areas.
