Designer Dorothy Thorpe Lucite Acrylic Chrome Cocktail / Vanity Tray
This “Mad Men” style lucite and acrylic oval tray was designed by Dorothy Thorpe in the 1960’s. This tray is Monogrammed RSG and was found at an old estate in La Jolla California. In the last half of her life, Dorothy Thorpe lived a few miles away in Carlsbad, so it is possible she may have known the person for which this was monogrammed.
Measurements: 18 inches long x 12 inches wide x 3 inches tall
Condition is good with very minor light surface scratches commensurate with age & use, which is common on most vintage lucite and acrylic pieces. There are some rust stains on the acrylic where the connectors are bolted to the bottom. And the silver connectors need cleaning also.
There are a few marks pointed out in the photos which might come off easily. Not knowing how to properly care for this material I didn’t attempt much cleaning.
