During WWII HITLER banned makeup for woman saying, “they should be fresh faced.” He also banned anything "Fashionable" AMERICA then turned that around and into a way to boost morale over here. Elizabeth Arden was asked to make a lipstick line. This is what started a mass of American woman wearing lipstick. They wore it everywhere & especially to work! She matched the Victory Red lipstick to ladies uniforms. They went to work for the war efforts and also cheered up the boys overseas. They saw that they would be coming home to some glamorous women! Even Rosie the Riveter got in on it and you see her wearing bright lips in all of her posters. Elizabeth Arden propelled a movement and also set the future trends for makeup by starting this lipstick line.
