This vintage Gillette gold pocket razor is a rare find for any collector. The unopened pack of thin blades adds to its value. The razor was made in the United States and features a long comb design. The brand name Gillette is prominently displayed on the razor, making it a great addition to any collection. The material is gold plated brass, and the razor has not been modified or handmade. It is a great safety razor for daily use or for collectors who want to add to their collection.
Razor top cap has a nice gold finish with minor wear. The open comb baseplate boasts plenty of gold and the teeth are in superb condition. The ball end handle has a nice gold finish and the knurling is in great shape. There is the typical minor fissure towards the neck, which does not affect the quality of the shave. The Jan. 13, 1920 is clearly visible on the smooth collar on the ball end. The solid teeth and strong blade clamping provides a smooth and efficient shave.
The outside of the case has wear and the lid closes with a solid snap. It opens with an eerie but funny squeak. I consider the inside as superb for its age with the Gillette logo quite visible. The set also includes a four pack of cellophane wrapped Vintage Gillette Thin Blades.
