Description Up for sale is a vintage Art Deco Powder jar that is signed J. Viard. I have had this jar many years, and although I have had the painting touched up, inside the jar there is an oval piece of glass that came out of the bottom, and I re-glued it back in the box. See photos 6 & 7.
- Frosted glass powder jar with octagonal sides.
- Powder jar lid lifts off easily, both on the jar and lid there are a few flea bites on the edges.
- As you look at each square picture in the powder jar, there are alternating themes of either a swallow flying or a majestic bird standing.
- The underside of the jar is very worn and some of the faux white coloration has worn off.
- The jar is marked in embossed letters in two places:
- Dimensions of the jar is: about 4 inches wide and 2 ½ inches tall
Despite its issue, this is still a very charming jar and reminiscent of art deco.
