And there are many techniques used to achieve the brilliant colors. All of Michael Lawrence's artwork requires at least 3 firing in a kiln before they are completed. The first firing is 2400 degrees and lower temperatures are used for China paints and gold and true red, orange and purples need lower temperatures, too.Each piece exhibits great attention to the most minute detail. This exacting process of creating porcelain artwork requires painstaking efforts over a period of four weeks or more.
