Vtg Nicario Jiménez Quispe Retablo Maiz Corn Harvest Peruvian Folk Art Jimenez
Charming original retablo made by famed Peruvian artist Nicario Jimenez Quispe. There's a ton of depth to this harvest depiction, with several rows of corn, parrots overhead, and many signature tiny details. This was an estate find and while it doesn't have a certificate of authenticity, it is signed. On the bottom, "maiz" is written in pencil. Undated. Measures approximately 8" tall at the roof peak, 5" wide (when doors are closed), and 2.75" deep.
CONDITION: No missing pieces or repairs. Painted exterior looks good. There is some overall dust, which I will leave to the buyer to clean.Doors don't fully close and the right door doesn't always want to stay open, but all 4 leather hinges are intact.
