View Larger Image   Household Searchlight Recipe Book 1931 First Edition   Description: Offering this wonderful 1931 First (1st) edition of the Household Searchlight Recipe Book (cookbook), published by The Household Magazine, copyright 1931, first printing 1931. It is also signed by the author Ida Migliaro under a card type label of matching paper on the front inside cover. The note that is signed by the auther is under the title "Cooperator's Volume", and it mentions the reason for this gift book was in "sincere appreciation of your service in helping to plan this book". It is addressed to the past owner who recieved this signed gift above the this note and author's signature. Black cloth hardboards with geometric pattern; raised detailed lettering and cottage in the trees in orange on front; orange lettering on spine. Good++ condition, no spine cracks, mild corner and spine edge rubs. Orange and orange end paper (front inside blank page) are slightly rolled on the side that overhangs the tabs . Pages are good and clean for the most part - about 2% of the book has some light small spots on the pages, and about 10 pages have some darkening where newspaper recipes where inserted over the years, with minor age toning and paper curling on tabs, letters are still very legible for the most part; these are all minor imperfections that do not affect the hundreds of delicious recipes! This book bears the old tab indexes for each catagory, plus an index section. A great old recipe book filled with hundreds of wonderful recipes! We note this is about the best we have seen in this year 1931 (the first printing of this cookbook that continued to be printed every year until 1981) in the area of the clean pages, and the nice condition of the tabs.
