An original 1898 antique Masonic Knights Templar delegate souvenir badge issued for the 27th Triennial Conclave held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The silver-toned header bar reads \"27th Triennial Conclave Pittsburgh, PA. 1898\" and is fitted with an authentic, drilled natural oyster shell drop. Affixed through the shell with original rear wire prongs is a black-finished triangle insignia featuring a templar cross, representing Maryland Commandery No. 1 (inscribed \"1790 Maryland 1871 Commandery No 1\"). State commanderies famously personalized their triennial conclave regalia with local motifs, celebrating Maryland\'s historic Chesapeake Bay oyster trade.

Antique, pre-owned condition with age-appropriate wear. The top metal header shows surface oxidation, tarnish, and patina consistent with late 19th-century metal. The pin stem, hinge, and C-clasp are intact and functional. The natural shell has organic flaking, edge roughness, and natural calcified striations inherent to real oyster shells.
