2.60 inches⸻DescriptionThis piece comes from my personal collection, carefully kept as a natural mineral display specimen.“Gilded Bloom” is a natural Himalayan quartz cluster from Hashupi, Pakistan, featuring two prominent main crystals, numerous smaller intergrown crystals, golden-yellow mineral coatings, dark mineral associations, and beautifully defined horizontal growth striations. Its name reflects the flower-like arrangement of golden coatings across the reverse, where irregular patches resemble petals unfolding between clear quartz points.Two substantial prismatic crystals rise side by side, creating a gently uneven, twin-peaked silhouette. One is broader, while the other is more slender. Their adjoining forms provide the central structure for smaller crystals extending upward, outward, and diagonally around the cluster.Three noticeable smaller crystals occupy the lower front, including two particularly transparent points. Their clear bodies reveal golden coatings on surfaces behind them, giving the impression of small golden landscapes viewed through glass. Numerous additional crystals decorate the reverse, creating a richly layered arrangement that changes with the viewing angle.A distinctive transverse crystal stretches across the backs of the main crystals. Below it, smaller points intersect at oblique angles, while others rise from the base. These varied orientations give the specimen considerable depth, with overlapping crystal faces and irregular spaces between the intergrowths.Golden-yellow to orange-yellow mineral coatings are especially prominent across the reverse and around the base. Their distribution varies from thin patches to thicker crusts, following crystal surfaces and gathering around some junctions. Dark brown to nearly black mineral material, including the reported hematite associations, adds contrast to the warm yellow areas.The reverse has a particularly expressive appearance. Golden patches suggest petals, while dark branching outlines resemble stems weaving between the crystals. This floral impression comes from the arrangement of the mineral coatings and intergrown quartz, rather than a separate flower-shaped mineral formation.Viewed from the front, portions of this richly coated reverse remain visible through the transparent quartz. The overlapping surfaces create depth and a landscape-like effect, with golden shapes appearing at different distances behind the clear crystal faces.Surface texture is another defining feature. Dense horizontal growth striations cross the front smaller crystals and portions of the main prism faces. These parallel lines, sometimes described by collectors as Akashic lines, become especially noticeable under angled light. Some areas also display fine surface relief and localized stepped textures.The upper portions of the main crystals have softly frosted, matte-looking surfaces, contrasting with clearer areas below and along the sides. Smooth faces show a bright vitreous luster, while textured surfaces scatter light more softly. Localized internal cloudiness adds further variation without obscuring the clarity of the smaller front crystals.The overall appearance ranges from near-colorless and pale champagne to warm golden tones, depending on lighting and the position of the mineral coatings. One main crystal has localized contact or separation marks, while the other has a comparatively intact termination. A smaller crystal near the base also shows a side impression. The specimen includes irregular basal surfaces, mineral crusts, and natural surface variations. These features are part of its visible condition; the cluster is not described as damage-free.
