Large original collection of 106 photographs documenting U.S. Army service and military life in Germany during the 1960s, with many photographs specifically dated June 1967.The collection consists of 58 vintage photo holders/mounts. Many are double-sided, with an additional 48 photographs mounted on the reverse sides, for a total of 106 original photographs.A significant portion documents U.S. Army activities at Graf/Grafenwöhr, Germany. Subjects include soldiers, military exercises and field activities, tracked armored vehicles, military trucks and equipment, artillery-related scenes, a machine-gun position, barracks/camp scenes and other military subjects.One particularly clear photograph shows a soldier beside a red “HEADQUARTERS 1st BN 33rd ARTY” sign. Several mounts contain handwritten period captions identifying locations, dates and individuals. Captions include references to Graf, Grafenwöhr, June 1967, Sgt. Chapman, Sgt. Oglesby, a German soldier, a gas chamber and other subjects.The collection also includes photographs taken during travel and/or leave in Germany and surrounding areas.These photographs appear to have been preserved together as one serviceman’s personal collection and are being offered together rather than separated.106 photographs total: 58 photographs on the front sides of the mounts plus 48 additional photographs on the reverse sides.Condition varies due to age.
