Forsale is an impact fragment of a meteorite strike (also known as Tektite). A tektite is a rare natural glass formed as a byproduct from a meteorite strike on earth. These fragments are mostly indo-chinites (originating from the far east).
· The fragments measure about 1/2 inches to 2/3 inches long (1.25cm to 2cm) long and may differ slightly from what ispictured in the photos (i.e. some are rounder, some are flatter).
· The fragments weigh approximately 4 to 6 grams apiece on average.
· The composition of these fragments is mostly impact glass and some other compounds including iron, quartz, zircon, rutile, chromite, and monazite.
