The Stollwerck cards were distributed with Stollwerck chocolate and collected into illustrated albums. This lot is particularly interesting because it covers material from the turn of the 20th century, with cards spanning a ten-year period from 1898 through 1908.
The 20 complete six-card groups are the highlight of the lot. These provide substantial progress for collectors working on the individual Stollwerck album groups, while the additional cards from Albums 3, 5, 9 and 10 offer even more material for completing sets or filling album pages.
This is a substantial collection of over 160 original Stollwerck cards dating to the 1890s and early 1900s, rather than a small miscellaneous card lot.
