1720 British Treasury Warrant Fragment Signed John Aislabie South Sea Bubble Era:
$129.99

Offered for sale is an original 1720 British Treasury Warrant issued from Whitehall, signed by three Treasury officials:

J. Aislabie — John Aislabie (1670–1742), Chancellor of the Exchequer (1718–1721) and a central figure in the infamous South Sea Bubble financial scandal.

Geo. Baillie — George Baillie, Lord of the Treasury.

R. Edgcombe — Richard Edgcumbe (later 1st Baron Edgcumbe), Treasury Commissioner.

This is a genuine fragment of an official government financial or administrative document from the reign of King George I. The top of the page clearly shows “Warrant Whitehall 1720 —”.

Historical Significance:

John Aislabie’s signature is particularly sought after by collectors of British political and financial history due to his prominent role in one of Britain’s most notorious economic events.

Condition:

Antique paper with expected age toning, light staining, and edge wear. Small fragment (as shown). Still very legible and attractive for display. Please review all photos carefully.

Perfect for:

Autograph collectors

British history enthusiasts

Financial history / South Sea Bubble collectors

Framing as a historical display piece

This would make an excellent addition to any collection of 18th-century manuscripts or Treasury packaged in protective materials with tracking. Ships quickly.
