Description
Offered is an original colonial American land deed executed in the Province of Massachusetts Bay on April 1, 1752.
The printed and manuscript document records the conveyance of land in Groton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts by Nathaniel Lawrance, Yeoman, to Benjamin Lawrance for the sum of Two Hundred Pounds lawful money.
The deed contains extensive handwritten legal descriptions of the property, original period signatures, witness attestations, and an acknowledgment before William Lawrance, Justice of the Peace. A later recording notation on the reverse shows the deed was entered into Middlesex County records in 1808.
This document was created during the reign of King George II, decades before American independence, making it an authentic survivor of colonial New England history.
