The document records $13.45 received from John Ball, acting as agent for the heirs of William Parkhurst and the heirs of John Parkhurst, the latter described as deceased and formerly of Lexington. The payment represents Joel\'s equal share of a $121 dividend established in June 1823.
Possible Revolutionary War association: the deceased John Parkhurst may be the Lexington, Massachusetts, housewright and militia member who served in the 1776 White Plains campaign and died in 1812.
