  Up for sale is an original, authentic pre-Civil War manuscript ledger document detailing the account of sales by the prominent New York City firm Corlies, Haydock & Co. on behalf of Root & Dunham.

  This single-sheet, double-sided ledger itemized the trade of early American textiles in the autumn of 1839:

  • September 27, 1839: Sale of 4 Bales of Wadding.

  • October 1, 1839: Sale of 8 Grey Cloth.

  • Signatures/Notations: Features the handwritten notation of the firm name Corlies, Haydock & Co. and is signed at the bottom by Geo. G. Haydock.
