DATE: 1852DESCRIPTION: 7cm x 15cm Inspection Slip. Measures of cord wood loaded in Baltimore on November 4. 1852. Loaded for Captain Rollins of the Schooner Advance. The volume of wood, 52.75 cords = 6752 cubic feet - about 20\' x 20\' x 16.9\'. Appears to be an inspection slip rather than a bill of sale, similar to a scale ticket in modern trade, a measure of volume rather than weight. [ Vessel is not to be confused with Schooner Advance (1871), sank in Sand Bay, Wisconsin. This is an earlier vessel of the same name, though the use in energy transportation appears very similar.]
CONDITION NOTES: VERY GOOD. Easily legible with figures on back.
