Louis Prang was a printer, lithographer, and publisher based in Boston. His business, L. Prang & Co., produced a wide range of works, including several different card sets. This example of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, is from Prang\'s \"Prominent Characters, Men of Times\" series, which spotlighted U.S. presidents, high-ranking military officials, and other historical figures, though many subjects of the set have not surfaced within the hobby for decades.
What makes this example of Lincoln all the more unique, among the few examples know to exist, is the placement of the stamp on the reverse, fittingly of our 1st President, George Washington. Although graded SGC 1, the piece features great eye appeal with a finely detailed image of Lincoln. This is a significant piece of early presidential memorabilia, from the Civil War era, featuring one of the most important figures in American history.
As of today, 10-2-25, less than 30 of this example of Lincoln have ever been graded by PSA and SGC combined.
