1880s U.S. Postal Card 1ct Ulysses S. Grant & Louis Sniders Sons Co. Cincinnati For Sale

This artifact consists of two distinct items of nineteenth-century ephemera. The first is a business or appointment card issued by The Louis Sniders Sons Co., Paper Makers, of Cincinnati, Ohio. The card, printed on light tan stock with a slight fibrous texture, features ornate typography with the company name in a large display face and \"Cincinnati\" rendered in decorative script. The text \"I will call on you\" appears at the top left, followed by a dotted line for the recipient\'s name, while \"on or about\" appears at the bottom left with a corresponding line for a date. The name Thos. H. Scallan is printed at the bottom right, likely identifying a sales representative or agent for the firm. The dotted lines remain blank, indicating the card was never completed or used for its intended purpose. Minor corner rounding, slight edge fraying, a faint vertical crease along the left side, and small dark specks consistent with foxing or storage debris are present but do not obscure the legible printed text. The instruction \"THIS SIDE IS FOR ADDRESS ONLY\" confirms that the reverse was reserved for correspondence, a convention that predates the divided-back era initiated in the United States in 1907.
