“Buchner took the 62 police inspector subjects with the GoldCoin fronts in the smaller N284 set and reproduced them in a larger size and ina slightly different format. In addition, 33 more subjects are known, mostlythe same as the police inspectors that are found with glossy fronts in the N284series. A checklist is available on pp. 375-376 of WTI Vol. II. The lithographer is listed as Julius Bien on some cards and as Sterling and Wemble on others. Thecopyright date is 1887, and the cards probably came out a little later.”
