Original antique German New Year postcard featuring a charming lucky-pig motif with four-leaf clovers and flowers.
The design shows several black and gold-toned pigs running among clover plants. The card features attractive embossed details, especially visible on the reverse.
A Russian New Year greeting “Съ Новымъ Годомъ!” (“Happy New Year!”) is printed in the upper left corner in pre-revolutionary Russian orthography.
The postcard was postally used in 1906 and addressed to Monastyryshche, via Illintsi station, in the territory of present-day Ukraine, then part of the Russian Empire.
The reverse retains the original handwritten message, address and postal cancellations dated December 23, 1906.
