Here\'s a beautiful, working, factory-built 1923 Atwater Kent 3955 breadboard radio, better known as the Model 3. It comes with a complete set of brass base, tipped amberglass 1amp UV-201 Radiotron tubes. Atop each tube is an original Atwater Kent tube cap. All of the tube caps are signed and are guaranteed to be original. Also included with the radio is an original 1923 Atwater Kent promotional brochure in which the radio is featured, along with the 3925 (Model 1) and the 3945 (Model 2).
The radio is original throughout, with clean parts, clean fittings, glossy brown bakelite with no scratches, no cracks, no chips, no issues. Both AF transformers inside the TA are original, and both are good. Wiring under the board is straight and original.
Smooth original finish on the board, whose end caps are still tightly secured, albeit with a subtle, age-related distension evident but not visible on the right cap. I use a tiny riser beneath theright rear tack bumper to level it. Alternatively, the front right foot can be removed, and the effect will be the same.
Both the Coupled Circuit Tuner and the Mounted Variometer are clean and working properly.
As noted above, the radio includes 3 early amber glass Radiotron tubes. They\'re the same tubes you see pictured in the radio and the same tubes you see (and hear) in the video I\'ve posted above.
This is a wonderful original breadboard in excellent original condition. Factory-wired Atwater Kent breadboards from early 1923 are almost to impossible to find in any condition, much less working andlooking as nice as this 3955.
